To use Quick Registration, the user must have the capability "auth/magic:cansitequickregistration" at the site level or "auth/magic:cancoursequickregistration" at the course level. This ensures that only users with the necessary permissions can utilize the feature. It operates independent of Moodle's capabilities related to enrollment. This means that you can enable teachers (or any user with the capabilities) to register and enroll users into their course without giving them access to the existing user base. Great for data privacy.
The Quick Registration feature is available in two locations within Moodle: at the site level and within individual courses. At the site level, site administrators can access it through the "Site administration > Users > Accounts > Quick registration". Within a course, participants can access it by clicking on the "Quick registration" button located next to the "Enrol users" option.
After clicking on "Create user", a magic link is displayed which can be used to immediately login.
Please note: if the email address was not found, a new user is created and enrolled into the course. If the email address matches an existing user account, first name and last name are ignored and the user with the email address will be enrolled into the course.
Tip: this is brilliant to quickly create test users....
