Full policy

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users have the right to withhold consent for their personal data to be shared with external services. In learning platforms like Moodle, external content such as videos (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo), interactive tools (e.g. Genially, Canva), or maps (e.g. Google Maps) are often embedded directly into courses. However, even loading this content can transfer personal data — such as an IP address — to third parties. Consent Manager ensures that such content is only displayed after a user has explicitly granted their consent, giving administrators the tools to handle external content responsibly and in compliance with strict data protection interpretations.

Consent Manger leverages Moodle's built in system for policies for this — what you are currently reading is actually a third party policy that we added on this site so that you can see how it works.

  • If you give your consent to this policy, you can see the blocked content (and you accept that the data that the service needs to deliver their content is transmitted to the service, including but not limited to your IP address).
  • If you don't give your consent to this policy, the content will remain blocked and no data will be shared with the external service.

It's your choice.
